Curriculum:
Citrus Grove Microschool involves vast hands-on learning opportunities in art, STEM, field trips, and basic life skills in a project-based learning style. We are a blended program where students may use the provided curricula: Lexia (for ELA) and CTC Math. Students may also use other curricula if the guardian desires, at their own cost.
Typical Day:
While we keep a flexible schedule depending on guest speakers, field trips, and class opportunities, we tend to keep to this schedule:

*Group gathering activity

*Individualized learning time for Language (Lexia time, if choosing the provided curriculum). This is where they do their placed grade-level work for language.

*Dance Party (Break/Wiggle time), water & bathroom break

*Individualized learning time for Math (CTC Math if choosing the provided curriculum). This will be where they do their placed grade-level work for math.

*Snack, bathroom, and water breaks (water is allowed during any point of the day, but sometimes it is a friendly reminder to have set aside to drink water)

*As a class, we collaborate on a subject chosen by the students, utilizing different approaches that whoever leads wants to take (we rotate leaders). Depending on the leader, it can be a play, debate, poster/slide show presentation, or many other things. During the collaboration, we rotate through Social Students, Science, Speaking and Listening, and Math Circles.

*Lunch. If it's 90* or lower, we will go to the park nearby and have lunch outside. If too hot, they will have lunch in the kitchen or outside under our citrus tree shade at our picnic table.

*Reading time rotates between reading a book to ourselves and reading a class book out loud.

*Mini Lesson. Daily, we rotate through Handwriting/Cursive, typing, ELA Support, and Journaling.

*Create. This is when we combine and create something with what we’ve learned. Create time activities will rotate between being done individually and as a class.

*Cinderella Time. We rotate through different chores to clean up our classroom area (sweep the floor, wipe down the table, clean the bathroom, vacuum our area, sanitize our school area). When finished, we each go through our day’s struggles and successes to reflect and reevaluate our day. Then, we throw our hands together, do a cheer, and send them on their way home.
Admission Process:
Interested in Joining Citrus Grove Microschool?

If you’d like your child to attend Citrus Grove Microschool, please start by completing our application. After we receive it, we’ll reach out to schedule a meet-and-greet where we can chat, and you and your child can get a feel for our school setting.

Following the meet-and-greet, you’ll receive several forms to complete. If you are using ESA, proof of your ESA contract will also be required at this time. The forms you’ll need to submit include:

• Student & Family Handbook Acknowledgement
• Citrus Grove Microschool Computer Responsible-Use Agreement
• Citrus Grove Microschool Park Consent
• Student Photo/Video Release Form
• If applicable: Student Walk/Bike Consent Form

Once these forms and your enrollment application are complete, we will send an invoice to the email you provided. Please use the invoice to pay the tuition fee promptly through ClassWallet. Once this process is finalized, your child can begin attending.

For ESA users, you have 7 days to submit the invoice to ESA. If the invoice is not submitted within that time frame, your child will not be able to attend until it is completed.

We’re excited to welcome new families to Citrus Grove Microschool!
