Religious Affiliation:
Highland is a non-denominational Christian school. We are not affiliated with any church. We also do not require our students to believe the following, but we do teach through the Christian worldview.
Our faith curriculum is designed to equip students with a strong biblical foundation and to cultivate a deep and abiding relationship with Jesus Christ. By combining various resources and teaching methods, we strive to nurture godly character and inspire a lifelong commitment to following Christ.
Key Components of Our Faith Program:
+Biblical Instruction: We use a variety of resources, including the Bible, Equipped, Monarch, and Ambleside, to teach biblical truths and principles.
+Bible Study Methods: We train students in effective Bible study methods, enabling them to interpret Scripture accurately and apply it to their lives.
+Weekly Chapel: Our weekly chapel services provide opportunities for corporate worship, singing, and biblical teaching.
+Character Development: We emphasize the importance of developing godly character traits, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
+Service Opportunities: We encourage students to serve others, both within and outside the school community.
Through these various components, our faith curriculum aims to instill a love for God's Word, a passion for prayer, and a commitment to living a life that honors Him.
+*We believe that Jesus Christ is the incarnate Son of God, retaining His absolute deity, being at the same time very God and very man to save the lost, and by His death and resurrection, we are saved.
+*We believe that all humans are created in the image of God and therefore have worth, value, and dignity.
+*We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the authoritative inspired Word of God (2 Tim 3:16; 2 Pet 3:16). God superintended the human authors of the Bible so that they composed and recorded without error in their original writings, His message to mankind (Jn 14:26; 2 Peter 1:16-21).
+*Christians are called with a holy calling, not to walk after as in the dark, but in the light after the Spirit, and so to live in the power of the indwelling Spirit (Col 3:1-11; Eph 2:1-10; Rom 6; Acts 1:8) and thus will persevere in faith as God preserves him or her (1 Peter 1:3-5; Jn 6:37, 44). It is the responsibility of all believers to be witnesses of the saving grace of Christ and to exercise their gifts for the building up of the saints (Rom 12:3-6; 1 Cor 12:1-26). By this everyone will know that we are His disciples, if we love one another, for He must increase and we must decrease. (Jn. 3:30, 13:35).
