Create the right assignment for your students

Spark offers three types of assignments: one-time assignments, assignment sets, and student-directed goals. Choose the option that best suits you and your students.

For all assignment types: Specify the subject, classroom, term, and students for each assignment or goal. Add instructions, documents, videos, or links to external resources. Students can submit a photo of their work, a text response, or simply mark it as complete.

Assignment sets: Save time by creating a set of assignments. Define the dates and time frame for the set, and customize individual assignments or set default options for the whole group.

Student-directed goals: Unique to Spark, goals give students more independence and motivation. Set an objective (e.g., finish reading a book) and establish parameters (e.g., complete within a month). Students then submit progress at their own pace.

Review student submissions and provide feedback

Easily view submissions on your dashboard, classroom activities page, or assignment calendar. Click on a submission to see uploaded images or text, enter a grade, approve the work, or request revisions. Send feedback directly to the student.

Monitor each student's assignment or goal progress

See a quick overview of each student's progress. See at a glance whether the student has completed their work, if you've reviewed it, or if they need to redo it using the color-coded symbols. Click into submissions directly from the calendar to track their progress easily.

Track activities and attendance

Keep track of weekly activities and attendance directly on the assignment calendar. School events and attendance schedules are automatically shown, or you can create activities for your classroom or specific groups.

View everything on one calendar

View all your vital information in one place - assignments, goals, activities, events, and attendance information. Filter your view of the calendar by classroom, subject, student, or course. Determine how much information the calendar shows so it's not overwhelming.

Access the assignment calendar in your self-contained Classroom

As the admin, ensure that each staff member in your school can access their own assignment calendar in their self-contained classrooms. As a teacher, rest assured that you can use all the tools mentioned above on your own calendar.
