Using Activities

Activities are tasks or events that occur during a typical school day or week for a small group of students. Unlike assignments, they do not require submissions. Unlike school events, they are specific to a student or classroom. Common examples include:

  • Science Lab
  • History Lecture
  • Math Tutoring
  • Zoom Class
  • Lunch Break
  • Choir
  • Play Practice
  • Violin Lesson

Key Details:

  • Activities can be assigned to individual students or groups.
  • Attendance can be recorded for activities.
  • Students see reminders on their Student Portal, but no submissions are involved.

How Are Activities Different?

  • Activities vs. School Events:
Activities are created in the Assignment Calendar and are specific to students or classrooms (e.g., lectures, recess). School Events, created in the School Calendar, are typically school-wide (e.g., holidays, sports events) but can be limited to specific groups.
  • Activities vs. Assignments:
Assignments require students to submit work (e.g., homework), while Activities are events or tasks without submissions (e.g., classes, practices).

Viewing Activities

  • Students: View activities in the Today's Activities box on their Student Portal on the day they occur.
  • Guardians: View their student’s activities on the Assignments page in the Guardian Portal.

Creating Activities

The activity will appear on the calendar on the selected date(s).
