- What archiving is
- What can be archived
- How to archive and unarchive
What is Archiving?
Archiving in Spark is the process of temporarily removing data, such as schools, student profiles, terms, and announcements, from active use while preserving it for future access. Archived items are not visible in the main interface but can be restored or unarchived when needed. This feature helps maintain organization by decluttering the system, allowing users to keep historical data without it interfering with current operations.
What Can I Archive?
Almost every entity within Spark can be archived, incuding
- Schools: You can archive an entire school and later restore it to regain access to all the data as it was when archived.
- Student Profiles: You can archive individual student profiles to remove them from active status, while maintaining their records to be restored if needed.
- Terms: You can archive a term to remove its associated assignments and calendar from the student portal.
- Announcements: You can archive announcements to remove them from the Guardian Portal.
- Other entities on Spark: Classrooms, Courses, Subjects, Gradebooks, Rewards, Guardians, Staff, Groups, Families, Locations, Reports, Enrollment Programs, Custom Emails, Forms, Billing Accounts, Installment Plans, and Invoices.

How to Unarchive

- Click the Filter button at the top of the page.
- Select Archived to view archived entities.
- Find the entity you want to unarchive and click the three-dot menu next to it.
- Select Unarchive.
The entity will be restored to the active list.
To unarchive a school,

- After logging in, go to your user page and find the Archived Schools tab.
- To access the archived school, click Restore School. You will then be able to enter the school and access all data as it was when archived.
