Creating Custom Emails
Custom Emails allow you to design visually appealing and detailed emails, such as Newsletters, Marketing Emails, and School Supply Lists. Any email you create is automatically saved and can be used as a template for future emails.
How to Create a Custom Email
- Navigate to Communications → Custom Emails.
- Click + Add Custom Email.
- Choose to create from scratch or use a template.
Creating from Scratch:
- Click + Add New Custom Email.
- Enter a title and click Create.
- A blank template will appear with your school's name and logo. Add content, blocks, and body elements as needed.
- Click Save Changes.
Using a Template:
- Select a template and review the preview.
- Click Use This Template if it meets your needs.
- Customize content, blocks, and formatting.
- Click Save Changes.
Using Custom Email Building Tools
Once your email is created from scratch or using a template, use the Content, Blocks, and Body tools to build or customize it.
Blocks
- Blocks are sections where content is placed.
- Drag and drop new blocks into your email.
- Blocks stack vertically.
- Each block can have unique settings, such as background colors.
Content
- Available content include columns, buttons, dividers headings, text, and images.
- Drag and drop content elements into blocks.
- Content stacks vertically; to align content side by side, add columns first.
- Click on a content item (heading, text, image, etc.) to edit settings, add URLs, or upload images.
Body
- The Body tool controls general settings for the entire email, such as text color and type and background color.
- Also manages email and link settings.
- Individual content elements can override these general settings.
Sending Custom Emails
- Click Send Emails next to the email in the list or within the email itself.
- In the Send Emails modal, select recipients:
- Enter ad-hoc email addresses in the Additional Recipients field.
- Choose recipients from Guardians, Staff, or Students.
- Select contacts from your Contact List.
- Enter the email subject.
- Review the email body—only the most recently saved changes will be sent. If the preview is incorrect, save your email before sending.
- Click Send Emails.
