What is a Quick Email?

A quick email is a feature in Spark that allows you to send an email to one or more recipients quickly without using an announcement or custom email.

Quick emails are different than custom emails and announcements in several ways. Quick emails:

  • Can quickly be accessed from anywhere on your Spark platform.
  • Are designed for fast, simple email communication.
  • Are best for basic messages to school members.
  • Cannot be saved as a template.

Using Quick Emails

Sending Quick Emails

  1. Click the envelope icon at the bottom right of any page or Email at the top of a classroom, guardian, or staff member page.
  2. Select recipients using the dropdown, or add additional addresses manually.
  3. Compose your message, using formatting options if needed.
  4. Choose whether to send emails separately to each recipient or as a single email.
  5. Configure any additional Send Options.
  6. Click Send Emails.

Who Can Receive Quick Emails?

Quick emails can be sent to guardians and staff within your Spark school, as well as to external email address typed manually into the recipient field.

Recipients will be automatically selected based on the location you created the email:

  • Classroom: all guardians in that classroom
  • Guardian page: all guardians or the individual guardian
  • Staff page: all staff or the individual staff member

To see the exact email addresses a quick email will be sent to, click View Recipients below the recipient field.


Managing Quick Emails

There are various ways you can manage your quick emails:

Email Sending Options

  • Separate Emails: Each recipient gets an individual email without seeing other recipients.
  • Single Email: All recipients receive the same email and can see each other's addresses.

Sender Name & Reply To Email

  • By default, recipients will see your Spark User Name as the sender and can reply to your Spark User email.
  • To change these, update the fields under Send Options.

Logging Sent Emails

  • To view all sent emails, go to Communications → Sent Emails. Click on any email to see its full content.
  • To disable logging emails, check the box under Send Options.
