Recording Attendance

  • How to record a student's attendance status

Where to Record Attendance

Student attendance can be recorded in multiple locations:

1. Needs a ‘Lil Love (Dashboard)

Go to your dashboard (on the Teacher side of the Microschool Version). At the bottom right is a section called Needs a ‘Lil Love. Click on Today’s Attendance and record the attendance for today.

2. Assignment Calendar

You can keep attendance for any event, activity, or general attendance schedule needed directly on the assignment calendar. Simply go to Assignments, find the day and attendance event, click on it, and record attendance for that event as usual.

3. Attendance Schedule

Go to Admin→Attendance. The first page you will land on is the Schedule. Find the date for which you need to record attendance, and click on the colored block indicating an attendance event. Record the attendance for each student as usual.

4. Take Attendance Page

Go to Admin→Attendance→Take Attendance and find the date for which you need to take attendance. Record attendance for each student as usual.


Recording Attendance Status

Marking a Student Present, Absent or Tardy

  1. Navigate to a recording location (see above).
  2. Select student(s) by clicking the checkboxes next to their names.
  3. If present, click Mark Present.
  4. If not present, click "More Actions" and choose one of the following:
    • Excused Absence
    • Unexcused Absence
    • Tardy (option to add minutes late)
  5. (Optional) Add Notes to provide additional details.

Recording More Information

Indicating Tardiness Duration

  1. Select the tardy student(s) by checking their names.
  2. Click More Actions and select Tardy.
  3. Next to the Tardy status, enter the number of minutes late.
  4. (Optional) Add a note with further details.

Recording the Reason for Absence or Tardiness

  1. Select the student(s) by checking their names.
  2. Click More Actions and choose:
    • Excused Absence
    • Unexcused Absence
    • Tardy (with an option to specify minutes late)
  3. Add a note explaining the reason.
